Content Manager, Regional (2)

About this Job
Khmerican is seeking content managers interested in promoting the Cambodian diaspora. Our editorial team is focused on creating high-quality original content that informs and inspires readers to be proactive citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage content for organization’s web presence
  • Copyedit and proofread all content
  • Oversee and guide all freelancers, including writers
  • Keep current with emerging issues and trends facing the community

Requirements

  • B.A. or M.A. in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or a related field
  • 2+ years experience managing content and production for high-traffic website
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Track record of engagement with the Khmer or other under-represented communities

Business Development Associate (1)

About this Job
Khmerican seeks an experienced business development associate who can secure partner deals and manage advertising/sales. This position requires an aggressive and well-connected individual with experience in strategizing for monetization. The ideal candidate will also have expertise in creative financing and exploring multiple revenue streams.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Khmerican executive team to accomplish business development tasks that are initiated by CEO
  • Triage inbound business opportunities to focus on those with highest value
  • Create and implement long-term business development strategies to drive revenue and build partner loyalty
  • Manage transactions associated with the Khmerican marketing partner network
  • Provide an up-to-date business development forecast and pipeline

Requirements

  • B.S., M.S. or M.B.A. degree
  • 3+ years experience in technology sales or business development
  • Expertise in one or more verticals associated with the non-profit sector
  • Demonstrated success securing and managing complex partner and business development deals

Contributing Writers (5)

About this Job
Khmerican is seeking experienced and new writers interested in reporting about the Khmer diaspora. We offer the chance to spark dialogue about a wide range of subjects to an audience of thousands, with a writer-friendly editing process that ensures you are published in a professional, polished way.

Responsibilities

  • Select subject matter based on personal or public interest, or as assigned by content manager
  • Conduct interviews with people either in person, over the phone, or by email
  • Write drafts, verify factual content, and submit material for publication at least once per month
  • Maintain an active interest in Khmer issues and trends
  • Exercise self-discipline and time management to produce articles consistently

Requirements

  • B.A. in English, Journalism, or relevant field or currently enrolled undergraduate student
  • Credible and knowledgeable on broad topics and issues
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Attention to detail
  • Familiarity with digital camera and audio recorder
  • Willingness to travel if needed
